DIY! Zipper on Peplum Blouse

I decided I loved this peplum blouse...

{It's cuter in person, swear it}

See how tiny this zipper is?! I had SUCH a hard time trying to get the zipper up, let alone down on my own...

So I had an idea to change the zipper-pull to something more 'do-able'

I picked these little pieces up, at Michaels for $2.99

 I also got lobster clasps, connector jumpers, and chain for a total of $8.97 {$2.99 each}
I decided to do a removable zipper-pull so I didn't have to worry about it possibly staining on the cream fabric.

First things first I clipped off the old, hideous zipper-pull.

Here's the naked pull...

 My pieces all laid out.

I did have to exchange the chain I bought for a size up... But it was a clean exchange and they were both the same price.

Jump ring open and chain attached!

Add the lobster clasp to jumper ring and chain.

Attached.

Second jumper ring open and ready for the second side of the chain and the bauble.

Bauble and jumper attached.

Second jumper with bauble and chain attached.

Clipped on and ready for zipping!

So cute! It looks like jewelry! And it's way more practical for this gal to get dressed and undressed!

The costs?
The blouse was $19.80, the lobster clips $2.99 (for a pack of 10), jumper ring $2.99 (for about 30 of them), chain $2.99 (for 72in), charm and balls $2.99, and I had to pick up a metal cutter for $9.99.
Total? $41.75... Not bad for a custom blouse!

YAY! Happy Hump Day!
