Now I have never been a girl that likes to work out. Never. Never ever. I have always been a dancer, and despite my 5'8" frame I stayed with it forbears and years.... Now that I'm older I have stopped dancing, due to injury, an yoga has picked up my stretching, twisting, and trying to keep my flexibility routine.
So what do I need?!
Well I need to lose 15lbs. Now I don't "need" to for health reasons, I "need" to for my own reasons.
How an I doing it? By making it easy... Taking baby steps and making sure I am stable with each one before I get to the next... Here are my steps...
1. Quit caffeine. It was an important step for me because I wanted to try and start living a more natural and healthy diet. So let's be honest, I wasn't drinking my coffee black, I was drinking empty calories at home with creamer and empty calories at Starbucks. So I quit almost a month ago... Yay!
2. Change and keep track of what I eat. I am using this App called "Lose It" and I live it. It's such a good tool that lets you input what you're trying to lose and how many calories you need to eat to lose a certain amount a week. Love. I also made it simple for myself by keeping healthy and tasty options in my home. I take my own snack with me when I go out and I drink a ton of water...
3. Working out. I am in my first week of consciously working out... And I'm starting slow. I'm making an effort to walk as much as I can and take my dogs for a 40 minute walk a day. Next week I'm going to start running on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays... I'm also going to do my Jillian Michaels 30 day shred on Tuesday and Thursdays after yoga. It's not for the plan on the DVD but to get some heart pumping workout after the calming yoga! I walk with my dogs daily will be a treat as well... They love it, and I love making then happy :)
I'll probably start running slow with walking and running incorporated until I can run without feeling like I'm goin to fall over!
4. Buy a bathing suit I feel AMAZING in!!!!
If ya'll have any tips, let me know! I'd love to hear what worked/works for you!
Here are some pics that are motivating me... They are all from Pinterest...
Love, Lucy XO
