Why?...
First of all, the cover of Vogue this month is GORGEOUS. Rachel McAdams looks gorgeous and sophisticated dressed head to toe in Dolce & Gabbana.

My favourite section in this edition is the best-dressed of the decade. Although it states to end in 2010, the year has just begun, and there are many more great outfits to bestowed upon us. Some of my favourite highlights are:

2005 Sarah Jessica Parker
(in Peter Soronen)
2001 Renee Zellweger
(in a vintage Jean dress)
2006 Lisa Airan

(in Rodarte)I think that all of the outfits are lovely but I think that these 4 women look especially breathtaking.
We come to an image of Rachel McAdams lying back in an image that just scream classic and sexy all at the same time. Her piece, the notebook, part two, takes us into her private life and makes her more human and attainable. Her love for the earth and her family really comes out in the feature that tries to breakdown her tough, private exterior, yet fails miserably. We do however learn about her life pre-Hollywood and opens us up to her love for not only going green, but loving & living green (enter her website: greenissexy.org). Her site is so cute with information that can be linked to EVERY aspect of your life, check it out! McAdams makes her costars gush and awe about her beauty, mind and talent... I think I need to check out The Notebook again!
In go west we travel to Utah to examine a spa that is set in the desert and really lets its guests enjoy the natural surroundings, including canyons and Lake Powell. This spa not only brings the natural elements around you in, but also emerges the whole spa in the middle of nowhere which becomes so delightful and makes a difference when you open your window to take in the moonlight of the desert. It's not only the writing that makes the place seem magical, but there is the same kind of feeling in the images that go along with the written piece. You could almost look at the images and receive the same kind of feeling of calm and feeling of need to be part of the desert by the secluded look of the shoot and the model. I'm not a fan of the motorcycle in the desert in the last frame of the pictorial, but I can deal with the mismatch.
From Russia with love comes into light towards the end of the magazine. Vogue goes inside the home of Charles & Olya Thompson a couple who transformed their brownstone in Brooklyn into a delightfully lovely dreamland of color, texture, and art. They made their home into a grown-up play room kind of a home. One where a child can go in and sit on any of the furniture without being yelled at. I love that their home looks like anyone could live there, there isn't a set style, and you would feel comfortable having a cocktail party without feeling like you have to re-decorate.
Last Look has always been one of my favorite parts of Vogue. We haven't been let down. As most of us know the kindle, and its friend the e-reader are taking the place of books. With that in mind, Tod's has given us a new accessory for the nook, an calfskin case (what every woman needs) for our non-books! I think its a cute, great idea, even if the cover costs more than the nook.

... This whole issue is bright and cheery, and definitely will add to any woman's inspiration board.

Love the review! It's great to see you blogging again, too! :)
Someday I hope to get an e-reader, if just to get a classy cover (a la junior high textbook).
Have a great week! xo,m.
