now i know that Steve Madden has them... even J.Crew has a to DIE for pair that are just a little too expensive for my student budget...
Old Navy has answered my call!!!

for only $39.94 these boots will be MINE! woot woot!
i'll keep you all posted on how they fit and what i will be wearing with them... i can't wait to wear them in a little... woot!

VEGAS!

so my husband and i went to vegas for the new year... well technically we went on the 2nd (everything is WAY cheaper then) and we had a blast! so much fun, we stayed at the rio. we went to two shows we saw The Crazy Horse Paris its a burlesque show at the MGM. we also saw Mystere at Treasure Island. we had such a blast, and of COURSE i had my husband use his new iPhone to capture my evening outfits!

the first dress was a black dress from TJ Maxx! a little no name number :)

the second is a purple dress from a store at Fashion Valley (which for all of those who don't know is the BOMB mall in san diego county!) called the Foreign Exchange... LOVE it!

Confessional Friday/Fashion Friday

1. I am ~~scared~~ excited about the Company Holiday Party tonight... I like the people that my husband works with/for but now that he is making his way up the corporate ladder, the more big-wigs we will have to talk to! Mostly I'm nervous about remembering who all these people are!

2. We got our Christmas cards yesterday, and I'm pretty sure all of my English relatives won't get their cards in time... But I hope that they do.

3. I got up at 12 today. Am I proud of it? No. Did it push back my housework by a few hours? Yes. Did it feel great? Yes. Is housework going to get done today? Nope.

4. ...What did my husband do while I was sleeping? Cleaned up our front room! Love that man!

5. Had a Diet Coke this morning instead of coffee or tea. Just sayin....

6. I'm on the way to feeling more calm at work. Yesterday should have been a crazy day, but I just kept calm and carried on. That phrase really worked!

Mingle Monday!/Changed my mind...

YAY! Monday is HERE!

But what I am most ~~dreading~~ excited about is, it's finals week! Meaning this semester is almost over.

Luckily I only have a final per day, so I'm not TOO bogged down with studying...

On another note... I changed my mind about my dress for my husbands work Christmas Party...

...again...

I just felt like something was off with the velvet dress too!

Something didn't make me love it...

So I went over to my local TJ Maxx on Saturday during my lunch hour at work and I found this little number...

I was instantly in love... I walked away though, thinking maybe I didn't really want her.

I thought about it for a bit, then went back to the rack to grab it to try on, and she was GONE!

I thought, "maybe somebody took her to the dressing room to try on", so I went in and grabbed it from the 'no thanks' rack and she fits, BEAUTIFULLY!

I think we may be meant to be with one another!

I am so excited... The best part? Only cost $17!! You can't make this stuff up!!! It's awesome!

AWESOME!!

For shoes I am going to go with a nude pump... Something shiny, but understated so this dress stands out all on her own! {red nails and a silver clutch - the sparkles on the skirt are silver - will complete the look!}

Confession Friday!!

Today is Confessional Friday! I'm linking up with Leslie over at Blonde Ambition!

1. I am going to be SO busy getting ready for finals next week... BOO! I can't wait till this semester is over, but I am going to miss all the awesome classes that I am in this semester! On wards to the next chapter!

2. One of the most exciting things about Christmas is the French Toast Casserole I'm making for breakfast from my girl Paula Deen!!! SO yummy! We are having my MIL over in the morning for the deliciousness!

3. I don't like to work. The people I work with are awesome and fun! But the job itself is tiring... I just work a few days a week because of school, but its one of those jobs that just drains you with its problems and the fast pace.

4. I have never seen a football game (besides high school football) live! I am so wish that I lived in the South where college football is a huge thing! I want SO bad to go tailgating and wear my teams colors!! SO fun!

5. ...I actually just want to move to the South in general! My husband won't leave California, but I think I just need to visit more often! I love the way of life and the emphasis on religion, family, and friends! It's something we just don't have in SoCal!

6. I need to find a topper or little bolero jacket to wear with my dress for my husbands work Holiday Party! I'm thinking something from Wet Seal or Forever 21!

Hey ya'll!!

Jeff's work Christmas party is next Friday the 16th and I was have SUCH a hard time finding something to wear! I had gotten a dress from Modcloth, sent it back. Got a dress from Victorias Secret, sent it back... That dress BTW SO uncomfortable! I felt like it didn't look like me at all!!!

So I went to my good old stand-by, Marshalls! Love that place!

I found 2 dresses there... A tri-colored cocktail dress and a velvet cocktail dress... Here are some pics!

Confessional Friday!

Tooooday is the first link up over at Blonde Ambition!!

It's time for confessions! Heeere we go!!!

1. I turned 26 on Saturday. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I did however start using night cream that is good for wrinkles the night of my bday... I figured it was time to start at some time!

2. I made gingerbread yesterday. So far I may ~~have~~ not eaten 4 or 5 cookies since then.

3. I'm pretty much done with Christmas shopping! I just have my husband to shop for and then we're done! (I wish that I had MORE shopping to do... I think my "on the ball-ness" has taken out my Christmas spirit... I need more spirit!!

4. I went to Old Navy when they were having a buy 1 get 1 75% off!!!!! I bought $120 worth of jeans and tops for $66!!!!! Love that place!!! A gal that worked there gave me the discount for more than just the cheapest items by ringing me up for 2 separate transactions so I saved SO much! She is the best!!

5. I went down a size in jeans... YAY!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!!

6. I have an intense desire to TRAVEL!!! My husband however (bless his accountant heart) is keeping our purse strings closed... I see how it is...

7. I'm getting more and more in touch with girly feminine fashion! I want to put glitter and gold and pink on EVERYTHING! Don't even TALK about bows... Gimme gimme!!!

Neeeew Dress

My dress (you'll remember from here...) didn't turn out the way that I planned.

The dress from Modcloth (of no fault to them of course...) was unflattering and just didn't fit me right!

It also made me look like I was a little girl... I'm obviously NOT!

Sooo...

My husband and I decided to do some research and try and find me a dress for his companies Christmas Party each year.

Well we (I mean my husband) found THIS jem!

I am in LOVE with this dress...

This will rule my party life!

I can't wait to wear it all different ways!

I got it in potpourri purple! I can't wait to get it in the mail!!!

Luckily the dress comes with a "how-to" guide to teach me all of the different ways to wear the dress!

I think for the Christmas party I'm either going to wear it strapless or the wide one shoulder look!

I'll have to post pics! Wahoo!!!

Now I just need to get a great pair of shimmery platform pumps to wear with the dress!

Saturday!

Last Saturday, the 19th, my little sister turned 23!!

I know she's not so little anymore, but she will always be 2 years and 358 days younger than me!

We had such a fun day!

We (my parents Sally and I) went to the Natural History Museum at Balboa Park down here in San Diego.

Then we (NAT party + my husband) went over to Old Town for dinner at the Cosmopolitan Hotel!

DAY 1...

Or I should say my starting off point.

I'm just going to tell you all that I'm really putting myself out there with these naked face pictures! So if you're scared? I give you permission to leave!!!

So here's my skin story.

I, like many other young things, had acne when I was younger. Not as bad as some, but enough to where I felt self conscious. Now as an adult, I thought it would go away... No such luck...

I have little bumps all over my face, and a lot of people don't notice, but I notice.

It makes me feel like I don't want my husband to touch my face for fear of him being grossed out by the bumps that haunt me! He doesn't care, but I do.

I have tried so many other products and I have even gotten my skin analyzed and told what to do...

It's not working.

So I am trying out the Olay Pro-X Clear Acne.

A relatively new product that I picked up for $39.99 at my local Target.

On the side of the box it claims that in 4 weeks, my skin will look and feel better.

And it also states that within 60 days of my purchase, if I am not happy with the product I can send it to them for a refund. I hope it works!!

{SideNote: I am not being paid by Olay nor have I been asked to do this review. This is purely to chronicle my findings, and maybe help someone else out there who wants to find a product that will work for them too!}

I will be posting pictures every 3-7 days to chronicle my progress, I will also report on how my skin reacts or what alterations I had to make with my personal use of the product.

I think my lack of a case of the "Moondays" carried over to today!

I am bummin... I have 2 tests tomorrow so I'm not really worried about that...

I got my hair done... It feels flat and my whole head is itching so I think I'm going to end up washing it tomorrow...

My husband has this week off which is AWESOME...

I had lunch with a bestie today... AWESOME...

Thanksgiving and my birthday are coming up at the end of the month... AWESOME...

We are going to Disneyland and Club 33 on the 28th... AWESOME...

Christmas is coming, which is my FAV holiday... AWESOME...

But somehow I cannot erase these crummy feelings...

Maybe its the weather... Or maybe I'm just tired...

It has affected my blogging! I never feel inspired.

I have a desire to go on a trip...

I mean overseas people! I want to go to Paris... Or maybe Rome! Or maybe to visit my family in England?!

My husband on the other hand (also my accountant - sometimes convenient, tax season obvi!) says that we in fact CANNOT go on a trip right now... BOOO...

My husband and I tend to only do the traditional Jack O'Lantern, but this year I think I'm going to try and convince him (ie. do it anyway!) to paint our pumpkins and maybe line them up outside! Or place them randomly in the front yard! I'm so excited for Halloween!!!

Cozy on a Rainy Tuesday...

SoCal is covered in overcast chilly weather!

There is no rain but inconsistent drizzle!

Today I am spending the day at the library studying for this, that, and the other... I think I am going to have some hot chocolate and just relax while I get some work done!
